If someone is interested in learning how to create an illustration in mixed media, please check out the Bay Rivers Art Guild Program for October @ http://www.bragart.org/gpage6.html.
I will teach a workshop October 26-29, 9 AM-Noon & 1-3 PM.
Illustrations, Graphic Designs, Relief Prints, Fine Art
I am curious about this workshop at Brag in Daphne:
Is it learning how to manipulate using computer programs, i.e. Photoshop Elements?
I would like a little more description of what it does cover. I currently am a beginner/intermediate with watercolor and do have the Photoshop Elements software on my computer. Please elaborate a little more on what the course will teach.
Thank you,
Gayle Buck
Hello Gayle,
the workshop will not include any work on the computer – it’s all about traditional painting in mixed media. I will explain and demonstrate how to complete a full illustration from scratch using media such as pencil, colored pencils, acrylics, oil colors and retouch vellum (spray). We will start out with ideas, sketches and a final composition and will then move onto the process of layering different media. Certain color washes (acrylic washes and oil washes) will be used to add depth to the painting. If you have any more question, please feel free to e-mail me.

I love your techniques and your style. I was excited to see you would be teaching a workshop in Daphne…. um tomorrow. Unfortunately I can’t find anyone to watch my 2 year old and 20 month old niece. Will you be teaching another workshop somewhere in the near future?
