Finally it’s done!!! BOB’S NEW CD “HAMMERHEAD STEW” While Bob Erickson was busy recording his new CD, I tried my best to work out a cover for it. We decided to place him on the front – cooking his ‘famous’ Hammerhead Stew – while on the back, the hammerhead shark is cooking him in revenge.
“Be careful what you fish for” started originally with just the upper part of the illustration. Looking at my first sketches I figured that something was missing… some joke, like a fishtail for the mysterious woman, that is on the little girl’s hook. “Mit beiden Beinen voll im Leben stehen” – “To have both feet on the ground” I wanted to do an illustration that ‘explains’ a German saying ‘word by word’. The exact translation would be: “to stand with both legs firmly in the life”, which -of course makes- no sense at all, but that is how
“Stripes” is about a little girl (and her cat) in a striped T-Shirt with a striped hair-do sitting on a striped armchair that is placed on a striped floor. Any more questions?
My “Seiltaenzer” (wire dancer) is done in prismacolors and acrylics. I wanted to create an illustration that emphasizes on a shadow. A wire dancer came to mind with a huge shadow watching him. Because I wasn’t sure where exactly I wanted the shadow to be, I drew it on transparent paper, which I could move

This illustration shows a girl playing with her reflected image. The name “Mirror” just seems to fit perfect, even though I am not sure if my intention is to reflect her in a mirror. Or could it be water? Or some other shiny surface? I guess I will leave this mystery open to you. The
I just finished a new illustration of my ‘Woods series’. I drew it with pencil and colored it later digitally (Photoshop). I guess I like to draw the adventures kids can have with friendly monsters.
The last assignment for our Illustration Seminar Class was to illustrate another student or teacher. Our teacher would take photos of everybody, print them and then every student could pick one (facing upside down on the table). I got to paint our teacher – Chris Payne.
